GOCAD Mining Suite

What information should I send to Mira Geoscience if I receive a licensing error?

Use the Mira Geoscience Licence Manager Troubleshoot feature to send us the licence_troubleshoot_info.txt, miralmd.lic, and miralmd.log files. Start > All Programs > Mira Geoscience Licence Server > Mira Geoscience Licence Manager.

My dongle is connected, but I receive a licensing error message. How I can fix it?

You can run the Troubleshoot feature from Mira Geoscience Licence Manager to restart the licensing services.

If that does not work then perhaps your licence file does not match the connected dongle. You can either connect the correct dongle number for the licence file or add the licence file for that dongle FLEXid.

Are there any dongle drivers compatibility issues that I should be aware of?

The licensing software for GOCAD Mining Suite, VP Geophysics Suite, and UBC-GIF installers include dongle driver version 6.63 and older.  Issues have been reported between the dongle driver and the new Windows 10 update: build version 2004. They can appear in the following two scenarios:

  1. When dongle drivers v7.100 or earlier are installed and Windows 10 is updated to version 2004. This might cause the update to fail and can end up with a blue screen error.

     Resolution:

  1. Uninstall Sentinel Runtime.
  2. Search for folders C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check if aksfridge.sys, aksdf.sys or hardlock.sys exist. If they exist, remove them manually.
  3. Upgrade Windows 10 to version 2004.
  4. If your licence is not tied to a dongle then you do not need to take any additional steps.
  5. If your licence is tied to a dongle then download the latest driver from here: https://supportportal.gemalto.com/csm/?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0018320

 

  1. When you don’t have the dongle driver installed, but you want to install or reinstall one of our official versions of the software that include dongle driver version 6.63 and earlier and you already have Windows 10 version 2004 installed. The installation of the dongle driver might finish in error and can cause a blue screen error.

  1. When installing our software, make sure to uncheck the dongle drivers during the installation process at the Select Components step.
  2. If your licence is not tied to a dongle then you do not need to take any additional steps.

What are the system requirements for the latest version of SKUA-GOCAD and GOCAD Mining Suite?

  • Operating System:
    – Microsoft Windows x64 Systems: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10.
  • Hardware:
    – Processor: Intel® x64 architecture processors
    – Intel Core, Xeon class processor, AMD Opteron, or Phenom class processor recommended
    – Disabling Intel Hyper-Threading: in the system BIOS settings
    – Memory: 8 GB RAM or more recommended (4 GB RAM minimum)
    – Hard Drive: 7 GB of disk space
    Note: some older Intel CPUs are not supported – your CPU must have support for SSE3 instructions.
  • Graphics adapter:
    – 3D graphics adapter supporting OpenGL® 3.2, with resolutions of 1920×1200 or 2560×1440 pixels are recommended, and a minimum resolution of 1280×1024 pixels is required
    – NVIDIA® cards are recommended. NVIDIA® Quadro™ series recommended. GPU computing requires one of these NVIDIA Quadro series graphics adapters: 4000, 5000, 6000, K5000, K6000, or M6000.
    Note:please make sure the latest drivers are installed.
  • Mouse:
    – You need 3-button mouse for your computer.

How do I add or update my licence file?

You can add and apply a new licence file through Mira Geoscience Licence Manager. Once the licence is applied, click on Apply to make it active.

How do I delete an old licence file?

Open Mira Geoscience Licence Manager and click on the Delete file or server tab and select the licence file to delete. Note that an active licence cannot be deleted.

Where can I download the dongle drivers?

You can reinstall the Mira Geoscience Licence Manager which will automatically install the tested version of the dongle drivers for you. If this does not work, please contact us licensing@mirageoscience.com.

Why am I unable to access my licence file on the server using a Server – Network client configuration?

Several issues can cause this:

  1. Licensing issues:
    1. The licence server is down and/or the Mira Licence server service is not running => Running the Troubleshoot feature usually fixes or provides insight into the problem.
    2. The Mira Geoscience Licence Manager on the client is newer than the Mira Geoscience Licence Manager on the server => Install the latest version on the licence server.
  2. Network issues:
    1. The client computer and the licence server computer are not in the same LAN.
    2. The firewall on the server blocks the vendor daemons and ports used by the FlexNet. Make sure it allows the following: lmgrd.exe, prdm_geo.exe, miralmd.exe, and default port 27000.

Geoscience INTEGRATOR

I forgot my username. How can I connect to Geoscience INTEGRATOR?

You can log in using your email address instead of a username.

I forgot my password. How can I retrieve it?

From the login page, you will a find a link Forgot your password?. Clicking on it will trigger an email. Check your mailbox for the email with a link to reset your password.

I forgot the URL to access Geoscience INTEGRATOR. Where can I find it again?

Your system administrator can provide it again. You could bookmark it for easy access later.

The URL for Geoscience INTEGRATOR doesn’t work (“This site can’t be reached”). What does that mean?

Project access is set per user. You can request access to your system administrator or Geoscience INTEGRATOR project manager. If you could see the project before, your access might have been revoked, or that project might have been deleted.

In Geoscience INTEGRATOR, I do not see the project I am looking for.

In Geoscience INTEGRATOR, I do not see the same menu options between projects. Why?

When you are given access to a project, you get a role assigned which dictates the permissions you will have on that project. Roles can be assigned differently from one project to another.

In Geoscience INTEGRATOR, I do not see the same menu options as my colleague. Why?

When you are given access to a project, you get a role assigned which dictates the permissions you will have on that project. You and your colleague probably have different role assignments on that project.

How do I connect to Geoscience INTEGRATOR from Geoscience ANALYST?

You can either use Connect to Geoscience INTEGRATOR under the File menu or use the Connect now button from the Geoscience INTEGRATOR panel. In the Geoscience INTEGRATOR credentials dialog, you need to provide your email address, password, and the URL of your server (same URL for the Geoscience INTEGRATOR web browser access). After credentials validation, you will get the list of projects to pick and load.

Geoscience ANALYST

How can I request my Geoscience ANALYST activation key?

You can request your Geoscience ANALYST activation key by clicking on Register now for your free key! in the software activation wizard. You will be asked to fill in a simple form and the free activation key will be sent to you via email.

What are the system requirements for the latest version of Geoscience ANALYST?

  • Operating system:
    – Microsoft® Windows® x64 Systems: 7, 8, 8.1, and 10.
  • Hardware:
    – Processor: Intel® Core i3, i5 or i7, Xeon® or newer class processor. AMD Opteron™, Phenom™, A-series, E-series or newer class processor
    – Memory: 4 GB RAM or more recommended
    – Hard Drive: 2 GB of disk space. Disk space required for Project Data will vary dramatically.
    – Graphics adapter: 3D graphics adapter supporting OpenGL® 3.2. NVIDIA®, AMD, or Intel cards are recommended. Please make sure the latest drivers are installed.
    Note:integrated video card is not recommended.

Which activation should I choose: Online or Offline?

Your computer should preferably be connected to the internet, select Activate Online.

If your computer is not connected to the Internet, follow Activate Offline and send the error message to our licensing team requesting your computer-bound key. You will need both the activation key and the computer-bound key to activate Geoscience ANALYST.

What is a computer-bound key?

The computer-bound activation key is a unique key generated for your computer.

How can I activate Geoscience ANALYST Pro?

There are two ways to activate Pro:

  1. If you do not have the free viewer activated:

Go to Start, locate Mira Geoscience ANALYST and select Activate Pro License. Click on Activate Online and enter your Pro activation key. Press the Activate button to finish the process.

  1. If you already have the free viewer activated:

Open Geoscience ANALYST, go to the File menu, click on License Management. Then click on the Activate/Manage button, under the Geoscience ANALYST Pro section, to open the activation wizard and enter your Pro key.

Can I try Geoscience ANALYST Pro before purchase?

Yes, you can try Pro for 10 days. To activate the trial period open Geoscience ANALYST, go to the File menu, click on Licence Management then click on 10 day trial button. Once activated, the trial cannot be stopped or postponed.

Can I transfer my licence key to another computer or to someone else?

A licence key cannot be transferred without prior written consent from us.

Do I need Geoscience ANALYST Pro in order to activate Geoscience ANALYST Pro Geophysics?

No, a Geoscience ANALYST Pro Geophysics activation key includes access to the Pro features.

How can I purchase Geoscience ANALYST Pro?

You can buy a Pro individual key from our website (purchase will be done via PayPal), or by contacting us at licensing@mirageoscience.com. Should you wish to purchase more than 4 keys a corporate licence is an economic alternative. To purchase corporate licences please contact us directly.

I am having difficulties using PayPal, is there other option to buy Geoscience ANALYST Pro?

Yes, you can contact us to make the payment via a bank transfer.

VP Geophysics Suite

How can I run a VP program standalone?

All Mira Geoscience VP programs are run through the command prompt as a stand-alone executable.

How do I install and get started with VPutility?

You can install VPutility by running the software executable. Note that by default it will be installed during the installation process of our current version of VPmg or VPem1D software.

UBC-GIF

I have two versions of UBC-GIF software installed on my computer, how I can choose between them?

You can run the previous version using the regular Windows Command Prompt.

To run UBC-GIF Suite 5, use the UBC-GIF Suite 5 Command Prompt with the Environment Variable already pre-set for you.

A GUI interface for each version of the software is also available with the exception of DCIP3D.

Why can’t I access DCIP3D with a GUI interface?

UBC-GIF DCIP3D does not have a GUI interface and can run only from the command line.
